Senior Specifier

Vivian Volz Architectural Specifications (VVAS) is seeking a Senior Specifier to join our collaborative, detail-oriented, and forward-thinking team. We are a trusted leader in architectural specifications, known for projects with high-performance, sustainability, and healthy material standards. What You’ll Do:

Develop clear, accurate, and coordinated project specifications at all phases of design.
Collaborate closely with architects, designers, consultants, and contractors to integrate specifications into the design and contract documents.
Research and recommend materials and systems to meet project goals, sustainability targets, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and enhance VVAS’s master specification content, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and evolving project needs.
Represent VVAS in the broader specifications community through organizations like SCIP, CSI and industry events.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience: Five or more years in architectural specification writing.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of building materials, codes, sustainability frameworks (LEED, WELL, CALGreen, etc.), and construction processes.
Collaboration: A team player who enjoys working with design teams, consultants, and clients to achieve project success.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with MasterSpec documents and editing software, proficiency in Word, proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, use of Bluebeam Revu or other PDF software for markups and compilation, and the ability to independently learn new software.
Certifications: CSI CCS certification preferred. We recognize and appreciate other industry credentials, such as a professional license.
