Associate Specifier
VVAS is looking for a dynamic professional to join us as an architectural specifications writer. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone with an interest in learning the architectural discipline of specifying. Some experience writing or using specifications is a plus, but we expect to train the candidate in the software we use and our methods of specifying. We encourage and support our team members in professional development and in obtaining professional certifications, including CSI's CDT and CCS certifications and working through SCIP's specifier trainee program.
The Associate Specifier will participate as a project team member, including the following:

Writing, editing, and compiling specifications and project manuals, for projects in all phases from Schematic Design through Contract Administration.

Progress quality assurance and quality control reviews, at each stage of a project.

Product and material research.

Building Code research.
-
Assistance in maintaining firm specification standards.
Daily work, after training, will primarily include specification writing and editing. Related project management skills include tracking and working toward milestone issue dates, technical communication with clients, and Bluebeam studio coordination and markups of consultant specs. After the initial training period, the possibility of hybrid in-office and remote working arrangements may be considered.
